Last night at the Off Plus Camera Film Festival the Polish premiere of Bollywood film “Aazaan” directed by Prashant Chadha, took place. We participated in its production – our team headed by Leszek Iwaniuk spent 14 days at the Indian film set in 2010. Alvernia Studios provided equipment on the set – cameras and lenses, lighting, grip, and aggregates.

The film is an action drama about the attempt of a terrorist attack using a stolen biological weapon. Trying to save the world from destruction, the main character, played by Sachin Joshi, traverses Europe, Morocco and China. The Bollywood film ‘starred’ Krakow’s locations: Szczepański Square, Krak’s Mount, Pijarska Street, Floriańska Street, Market Square, Small Square, and districts: Kazimierz, Ludwinów and Balice.

Indian filmmakers arrived to Krakow thanks to the efforts of three parties: Film Polska, Alvernia Studios and Krakow Film Commission, a division of the Krakow Festival Office.

The premiere was preceded by a panel “Aazaan – case study” in the Academy Off Plus Camera, which was attended by RafaÅ‚ Orlicki, head of the Krakow Film Commission, Maciej Å»emojcin – the producer on a behalf of Film Polska and Leszek Iwaniuk – head of set operations at Alvernia Studios.  The meeting presenting the backstage of the Indian production was hosted by RafaÅ‚ Stanowski , editor-in-chief of ‘Culture’ section at ‘Dziennik Polski’, a Polish daily.
