UNIVERSA — Open Opera is a musical and historical spectacle based on the theme of seven liberal arts (Grammar, Rhetoric, Dialectic, Arithmetic, Geometry, Astronomy and Music), in the context of which its main protagonists appear: Jadwiga of Anjou, Nicolaus Copernicus and Albert Einstein. These protagonists were portrayed by distinguished soloists: Iwona Sobotka as Queen Jadwiga, Małgorzata Walewska as Nicolaus Copernicus and Szymon Komasa as Albert Einstein. The soloists were accompanied by musicians from Sinfonietta Cracovia, the Polish Radio Choir and the Krakow Academic Choir. The role of the guide through the unconventional reality of the spectacle was performed by Julia Pietrucha. The spectacle was staged under the baton of Monika Wolińska, a distinguished conductor of the new generation.
UNIVERSA is yet another prestigious production with ALVERNIA STUDIOS directly involved. To date, the studio has participated in the production of, among others, THE ST LUKE PASSION, by Krzysztof Penderecki and MATRIX LIVE: FILM IN CONCERT, by Don Davis.
