Penderecki & Greenwood album to be released in March
An album of works by Polish composer and conductor Krzysztof Penderecki and composer and Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood, which was recorded at our studio, will be released in March.
The recording released by Nonesuch Records includes two works by Penderecki: “Threnody for the Victims of Hiroshima” and “Polymorphia” and two pieces by Jonny Greenwood, inspired by Penderecki’s compositions: “48 Responses to Polymorphia” and “Popcorn Superhet Receiver”. The music was performed by the AUKSO ensemble concucted by Krzysztof Penderecki and Marek Moś, AUKSO’s artistic director.
Originally the artists’ works were presented in concert at European Congress of Culture in Wrocław, celebrating Poland’s presidency of the European Union.
The record made in Alvernia Studios was produced by Filip Berkowicz, artistic director of the Sacrum Profanum, Misteria Paschalia, and Opera Rara festivals and curator of the Penderecki concerts in Wrocław, in association with the National Audiovisual Institute of Poland.
