”Call of Juarez: The Cartel” tops UK box office!
The FPS video game “Call of Juarez: The Cartel”, developed by Techland, has topped the Xbox 360 chart. Alvernia Studios’ credits for that production include: motion capture, data post-processing, props and set construction.
Mocap at Alvernia consists of 24 powerful Vicon T160 cameras. Each camera is able to capture images in a resolution of 16 Megapixels, at 120 frames per second. The setup is capable of simultaneous recording of multiple actors – up to 6 people at the same time. According to the review published in The Guardian: “the environments, admittedly, are fantastic, and state-of-the-art visual trickery such as depth of focus imparts an impressively high-tech feel”
This video shows how the face mocap session for “Call of Juarez: The Cartel” was realised.
Alvernia Studios is also responsible for all the motion capture sessions for bestseller video game “The Witcher 2″. Watch the making of video.
